Former Schroders vice chairman Massimo Tosato has been appointed an advisory committee member at Italian fintech Axyon AI.

Tosato, currently chairman of London-based asset manager M&G, will be expected to support Axyon AI’s growth and development plans.

The fintech, which provides AI and deep learning software to asset managers, completed a €1.6 million funding round in July 2022 and also has a collaborative arrangement with the AI and computer sciences faculty at the University of Modena.

Tosato has been much in demand since leaving Schroders in late 2016.

In addition to his role at M&G, he is also a non-executive board member at Italian bank Banca Investis and was a board member at robo-advisor Nutmeg between 2014 and 2016 and also spent 30 years as a board member at Columbia Business School in the US between 1992 and 2022.
