Post-trade services group Clearstream has teamed up with digital proxy voting provider Proxymity to launch a service that digitises the announcement of general meetings.
The service is described by the two companies as a “one-stop shop corporate event announcement platform for issuers and issuer agents”.
It is designed to improve corporate event communications between intermediaries and investors by publishing a digital ‘golden record’ general meeting announcement that goes directly to the issuer central securities depositary.
As with the proxy voting process, corporate events and announcements have traditionally involved manual processes and lacked both efficiency and transparency.
The platform will initially be rolled out in Germany and Luxembourg, covering all asset classes, and is scheduled to go live before the end of the year.
