BNY Mellon opens digital research hub in Ireland

Dublin wideGlobal custodian BNY Mellon is planning to create a digital R&D hub in Ireland.

The Dublin-based research centre will be used to further the firm’s AI, machine learning and data analytics capabilities.

The plan follows an €8 million initial investment from state development body IDA Ireland.

It is expected that up to 30 specialist tech jobs will be created by the end of 2025.

According to BNY Mellon, the centre will act as its European headquarters for technology research and development. It has recently increased its investment in this area and, in 2022, filed the highest number of patents in its 239-year history.
