Jean Devambez elevates to CEO at fund platform

Jean Devambez MFEXJean Devambez, a securities services expert, has become chief executive of MFEX, one of Europe’s largest ‘B2B’ fund distribution platforms which he joined last year.

Devambez joined MFEX from BNP Paribas Securities Services in May 2020 as global chief operating officer but became CEO this month.

Stockholm-based MFEX said it had “four-doubled” its assets under administration since 2017, now reaching €320 billion and with 80,000 funds.

The firm said Devambez had “deep knowledge” fund distribution, international organisations - and of digital and fintech, which will be “key in further developing MFEX’s standing in its key strategic markets”.

At BNP Paribas, Devambez spent 12 years variously as head of operations, head of product and solutions, and most recently as head of innovation and new business model development.

He said: “[MFEX is] on a remarkable growth journey and I’m excited to become CEO of this fantastic company.

“There are many opportunities right now in the fund distribution market and MFEX is perfectly positioned to gain further market share.”

The firm has also appointed Hans-Ole Jochumsen as chairman. Jochumsen joined MFEX board as a director in February 2020 and is also chairman of Nordax Bank AB. He retired from Nasdaq Inc in 2017 after ten years, most recently as vice chairman.
